Women in Health & Wellness: Interview with Pegah Olfat, founder of Pegactive

September 2, 2018

Pegah Olfat is the CEO & Founder of PEGACTIVE: Fitness + Faith, a company that focuses on all things health - physically, mentally & spiritually. She is NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Women's Fitness & Nutrition Specialist & a Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor. Pegah specializes in both co-ed & women’s specific fitness with the goal of helping others recognize & reach their potential.

Daria: How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Pegah: After overcoming orthorexia, I was inspired to make a difference and help others throughout their health journeys. In a society that focuses so much on external features, I wanted to set the "fitness" tone a bit different. True beauty comes from within, and if we are constantly training our bodies-but not our minds or our hearts, what good does that do for us?

DariaWhat are your business plans and challenges?

Pegah: My business plan is to REACH. Reach as many as I can. I hope to grow my PEGACTIVE workshops nation-wide, as well as to continue to grow my online presence in hopes of touching the lives of as many women (and men) as possible. To be super transparent, I could list several challenges. However, I use each one as a an opportunity to grow. Starting a new business is a struggle and uncomfortable, but there is SO much fruit. I know that God has called me to this, so I'm determined to take each challenge on, 100%.

Daria: What values come first in your brand?

Pegah: My faith. Everything points back to Him and His word. I would not be where I am right now if it wasn't for God's love and grace, so I truly give him ALL the glory. Other values: family, relationship, HONESTY,, and again..LOVE.

Daria: What is hot in Health & Wellness right now and where do you see it heading?

Pegah: Oh man! SO much is hot right now. Group fitness classes are popping up ALL over. I love it. It gives me inspiration for my Sweat Sesh parties. Other trends I AM LOVING: healthy food! Restaurants, snacks, all of it. I hope that this spreads NATIONWIDE. Also, CUTE FITNESS CLOTHES. I feel like new lines are popping up left and right. SO awesome to see. Let's be real. Athleisure should be allowed at all times, right?

Daria: What advice would you give to someone starting a company in the wellness space?

Pegah: Do not rush it. Yes, it's important to work hard and be consistent. However, there is a difference between working hard and rushing through the work. Set your REALISTIC goal, set your vision, build your team and KEEP your DREAMS coming. As I always say (pegactive slogan): YOU DO YOU. There may be people who do not have the same vision as you and they may choose to voice that to you..but guess what? It's not their business. If you truly have the passion for your wellness company, I encourage you to pursue it. Full heart. 100% MINDSET.
